Chocolatier Serves Up Flavourful Delights
Steeped in history, local Beaumont chocolate shop reimagines decadent sweets.
Nestled in the quaint historic community of Beaumont, Soul House Sweets has been tickling the taste buds of local chocolate lovers with their delectable chocolate and cleverly named โBeaubonsโ since 2018. Owner and Chocolatier, Kerri Bauer honed in on her passion for chocolate after discovering her love for feeding the community with her previous business, โCrepe And Shakeโ. Soul House Sweets takes pride in being built on history -literally. Their artisanal delicacies are handcrafted right where the Les Filles De Jesus convent settled in 1932. When you taste their sweets, you are also participating in that very history. The nuns planted the crabapple trees and raspberries in the 1940s that are used today in their family recipe for crab apple jelly and in their raspberry chocolate bars. These historical roots arenโt the only place where their local flavours are sourced, however.
Soul House Sweets finds nspiration in collaborating with local vendors to craft the ultimate flavours for their chocolates. Their recent Winter collection features beaubons filled with boozy delights from Rig Hand Distillery in Nisku. They have also collaborated with Brave Fox Coffee, who roasts their own beans right in Beaumont, and Chartier, acclaimed for their local French cuisine. With Valentineโs Day on the horizon, Soul House Sweets is dreaming up a delectable menu to satisfy everyoneโs sweet tooth. After all, love isnโt just for the romantics. Sometimes showing ourselves some self-love is a great way to celebrate this affectionate holiday.
